Beschreibung

Working as a VFX artist on big productions in a huge team. Is that desirable? Definitely - yes! You learn a lot about yourself, your limits, communication and working across cultural boundaries. The guest lecture will tell stories about shots, workflows and deliveries and hopefully give you an idea of how complex and fulfilling the job can be.

Philipp Karner is an experienced CG artist from Austria who grew up in Carinthia and now lives with his family, 4 children and 2 cats in Lower Austria on the outskirts of Vienna. As a child of the 80s, he is a complete autodidact and has touched not only VFX, but also advertising, interactive, game engines, AI and other related topics professionally. His employer list is now complete, working for Industrial Light and Magic and WetaFX - where he wanted to be as a teenager and never thought it was possible. Philipp teaches various CG topics at the University of Vienna and at various colleges to help others on their way.
