Johannes Friedrich is the Director of Climate Data at World Resources Institute , a leading global environmental think tank. He manages several data platforms, including Climate Watch, Systems Change Lab, and Power Explorer. He published in Nature, the Guardian, and The New York times. He works with decision-makers from national to international levels, including the UN, government ministries, corporates, and investors and worked partnerships with over 100 organizations, including Google, Amazon, IBM, among others.
Join Johannes Friedrich from World Resources Institute to learn how to connect climate science, data visualization, and creative communication. Johannes will provide insights from his work tracking global emissions and climate progress through open data and demonstrate how digital storytelling and visualization tools can make complex information accessible. He will also share how his team partnered with the makers of the board game Pandemic to create the climate board game Daybreak/E-Mission that engages audiences beyond the screen.
This session invites students and colleagues from across all programmes. Whether your background is in sustainability, IT, visualisation, information design, or game design, you’re invited to explore how your technical and creative expertise can contribute to climate action and awareness.
