Beschreibung
From May to June, the Department of Applied Social Sciences hosts lectures on current socie-tal and disciplinary themes as part of the Open Lectures series. International speakers are invited to contribute their scholarly analyses, research findings, and practice-oriented expertise to an interdisciplinary exchange with students, faculty members, and an interested public.
The first 25 years of the 21st century have been marked by multiple global crises whose consequences are becoming increasingly difficult to predict. This phenomenon is likely to continue to occupy us in the future. At the same time, crises are a central driver of social and moral progress. Through the activities of individuals and organizations, social innovations become concrete practices of this progress. In our series on critical social innovation, we present four contributions that address pressing social issues and tackle them in a constructive and innovative way:
- The impact of AI on democracy and politics
- The significance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for society and the individual
- Ecology and salutogenesis in the future of health promotion
- Cosmopolitan struggles for recognition and the everyday lived critique of migrants
The lectures are held in English and are open to both members of FH Salzburg and interested external participants. Attendance is possible upon prior registration: office.as@fh-salzburg.ac.at
